Jeggings!!!

What a way to end summer with a pair of this hot new trend, jeggings. The name is self-explanatory , Jeans-Leggings = jeggings. Jeggings is leggings designed to look like tight jeans, brought on by the resurgence of the skinny jeans in the late 2000s. The 'J is not only a reference to the denim appearance but also to the fact that it was first worn when jogging by celebrities like Nicole Ritchie.
The tricky thing about jeggings is you have to find a pair that really suit your body type, why? jeggings are very tight and shapely thus showing your figure down to the finest detail just like most skinny jeans. And the fact that it is made from a nylon-type material it can be very revealing. With that in mind, you also have to decide if you feel comfortable in them. If the answer is no then forget about buying them, I'm sure there's a lot of other fashion trend out there that suits you.
What to wear with jeggings?? Unless you have the body of kate moss or gisele i suggest you stick to the basic rule of dressing: Dress the upper part buggy if you have something tight for your bottom part. Then if you are like me, finish it off with a pair of chunky heels.
If you are petite or a bit on the short side, get a pair that really fits, you wouldn't do any justice to your body by dragging a metre of material around your ankle.
Picking a pair of jeggings is really important too (unless you are not on a budget). When i go out shopping i have my whole wardrobe in my head, so when i pick out a pair of pants or skirt i know exactly what colour to get, visualizing whats in my wardrobe and what would go well with my new purchase.
Try to pick out a color and design that would go well  with anything in your wardrobe. Personally i don't like the "this is a jegging" or "I'm coming through" look. Sure I love jeggings but i don't want to announce that I'm wearing one. why? some people still mistaken jeggings for a pair of joggers and will drop the red card on your fashion sense. Also leave the jogger look for your emotional break down moment.
In Tokyo getting the right pair of jeggings might cost you more than 3000yen unless you go to uniglo, which is really not a bad idea. You will find that most jeggings here have tonnes of gold buttons or chains attached to it, just the way the Japanese girls like it. I on the other hand buy those and then take it all out (did i mention i use to be a designer?) leaving one or two. But if you enjoy the shibuya and harajuku look then go for it.
If you are looking to buy a pair for a reasonable price then  the place to go is shimo-kitazawa, from the south-exit walk down straight for 2 minutes you'll find a fashion shop there that seem to have all the latest fashion for better a price than shibuya and harajuku (wanna know more? check out my shimo-kitazawa blog review for more on that shop)
So if you are as crazy bout skinny jeans as I do , try a pair of jeggings, I'm sure you'll love it.
