We all know that when it comes to relationships the nice guys finish last. Ladies tend to let the jerks win and we don't really know why but its simple. We ladies love drama. Some might try to make it sound better by saying: I love adventure, being spontaneous and the list goes on....the truth is females love drama and jerks bring all the excuse they need to unleash all their drama.
Nah this ain't about females being dramatic but still nice guys finish last. I took the train early in the morning and for the last few years I always wonder why the Japanese become rude, impatient and sometimes violent in trains. Its not your everyday typical Japanese behaviour, the submissive females become aggressive and even stood up to the males: I would cheer them on. Good for you, we all know that they like being submissive and cute .No pun intended. Call me a feminist or whatever but I like to see females standing up for themselves especially in Tokyo.
In a country where men run the show its good to see that the rush hour brings out the tougher, more bolder side of the Japanese female population. I on the other hand played the nice girl, even when the trains are jam packed I will always let people go in first so that I do not push them. Sometimes I take the next train just so that I don't squeeze into the little opening and annoy them.
Most of the time I arrive on time with no minute to spare which come to think of it me waking up at 6am is of no use because I wasted the next hour or so waiting for the next train and the next. I concluded that the Japanese are not morning people because I ride the same train home during rush hour and they are more tolerant.
Then one night after a few beers with my best friend we run for the last train home but were just in time for the one leaving before. It looks as if we couldn't get in but he headed straight for the door, I hesitated and ask him if we could wait for the one we initially intended to catch. He was really impatient and said no they will make way for us. And he was right. We pushed in then right behind us another 20 or so people including the suddenly aggressive females pushing to get in.
He then explained, that in trains you cant be the nice guy or else youll finish outside the train waiting for the next or you'll be the one pushed around inside. Which is true some men would lean on another completely relaxed with you supporting their weight while they read their newspapers or play PS3. Same for the girls: Nice girls finish last. You might have a 6inch heel drilling through your converse.
I took his advice and started sparing 10-20 minutes of free time in the office before working. I still try to be the semi-nice girl in the train and not let the rude, arrogant and aggressive behaviour ruin my mornings.
its true life teaches us a lot of similar interrelated lessons: Nice guys/girls finish last.
