Weight watchers

Kelly Rowland once said in an interview that she works out because she loves to look good naked. What a motivating sentence when you are up on the treadmill sweating your buns off. Mine is "Clothes at the bottom of your wardrobe". Yes! admit it! we ladies own a lot of things we never wear, you'd be lying if you say everything in your wardrobe fits. I grew up with a mum who was crazy about loosing weight. From aerobics to green tea. She tried it all. That should explain my greatest fear, becoming fat. She eventually gave up but I carry on this illness.
Anyway I remember posting something about boot-camp a few years back. So I've been going to the gym for 2 years now, been a member of spark people for two years and been counting calories forever. Thanks to all the new apps we have on our phone, we don't need a personal trainer or nutritionist. Soon y'all be getting all them expensive advises and tips that people like Oprah paid for, for free. Ain't that something to rejoice about? I'm getting all the same advices as Cameron Diaz, from her personal trainer for free. Poor girl has to spend millions to get those legs. That's her problem for spilling too much, that's the problem with celebrities, they like to talk about everything, especially that Kardashian girl. Whats wrong with her tweeting those racy photoshoped pictures...lol.
Back to the topic and moving on....there are just so many myths about what you should do and shouldn't do. One website will tell you something and the next will contradict that, people with fancy titles telling you how you should do your business. Back then I use to crash diet a lot, sometimes I just live on beer, And I prove all these fools wrong. Beer doesn't make you fat.. Beer + Food & zero exercise  make you fat, I was skinny and sexy as hell...(blowing my own horn). Then a few weeks of depression will pile 10kilos easily on me bony ass. Its been like that for years till I decided that I rather not be skinny nor fat. And I started working out, wasn't a problem for me to start and continue because its something that I love to do. I bike, hike, swim, jog and rock climbing every now and then. Going to the gym is fun cos I get to check out the muscular dudes, the lazy skinny girls, the determined fat ladies and the low-esteem skinny dudes.
The funniest thing for me was watching people do wrong exercise moves with the machine. For example, most of us would jump in and spike up the weight to maybe 35kgs and above, while our main goal is to loose fat not build muscles. This theory has been debunked but I still believe that when going to the gym, if you want to loose fat, use light weights and do a lot of repetitions. I never go beyond 10kgs actually I stay way below 10kgs and challenge myself to do it properly, faster and as much as I could. Second, these machines target specific muscles of the body and  you have to do the proper move while using them, otherwise it would be a complete waste of time and energy. Finally, ladies strength training helps to burn a lot of calories, don't restrict yourself to cardio and the treadmill, lift some light weights, do floor exercises that would strengths your core and tighten your thighs. My two must have equipment is the dumbbell and the balance ball. Google up exercises that feature these two handy exercise tools, you'll be surprised with what you can do with it. If you cant go to a gym, get your hands on these two exercise tools and workout in your living room.
When I started out in this new gym, it was pretty much empty. That was back in march, then right before the singlet season (summer) people especially ladies started spilling through the door. Expecting and hoping to loose 20kgs, tone up, tighten butt, arms and abdo, ready for the bikini hour. Aint gonna happen overnight, summer is here and these fools gave up already. Now the gym is back to me, my husband and the soccer dudes...what!what!, no wonder the owner spike up the gym fees.
People do not realize that it is a looooooooong ongoing process but its really worth all the pain. No pain, no gain, right!? The first few weeks even month you wont notice any drastic changes. Be assured that there are changes happening but it wont be too obvious at first. Most of us just want to go in and do just the minimum and expect to come out looking like Sheree.
